• Painted entire exterior of the hotel a two-tone gray/green scheme
  • Increased overall room count from 94 to 114
  • Landscaped exterior areas and re-striped 300-slot parking lot
  • Updated lobby with new paint, carpet, furniture, remodeled ADA bathroom and local original artwork and photography
  • Added an expanded continental breakfast (where there was NO breakfast before) of locally-brewed coffee, yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, smoked salmon (a favorite!) gluten-free oatmeal (Red Mill), bagels, multiple cereals, fresh fruit and four choices of juices.
  • Added a Business Center station including a desk-model PC and printer
  • Refreshed most all rooms with new electrical outlets, paint, baseboards, linens, pillows and original local artwork
  • Significantly upgraded guestroom amenity set to a five-piece set including organic soaps, lotions and hair products
  • Removed approximately 45 dated box-style televisions throughout property and replaced with 40+” flat-screen TV’s
  • Removed over 50 double beds  (25 rooms total) and replaced them with either King or Queen beds resulting in an approximate 50/50 ratio of King and Double Queen rooms
  • Fully compliant ADA (American with Disabilities Act) guestroom to be completed by end of January 2016 – second one planned for completion prior to Memorial Day 2016
  • Upgraded the Wi-Fi system to 100MB and extended its reach to the remotest areas of the hotel
  • Replaced 20+ dated aluminum door sliders (that had “failed” creating a cloudy condition) with new vinyl sliders
  • Replaced multiple damaged or worn sections of handrails on both parking lot and marina sides
  • Used repurposed tempered glass from the slider replacement project above to create heavy-duty “family friendly” glass and wood post windscreen barriers on the entire C Wing (northwestern-most wing)
  • Replaced worn and weathered plastic deck furniture with two new sturdy chairs and amatching table per deck
  • Spot-replaced furniture as needed throughout to replace worn and/or damaged guestroom chairs, nightstands, lamps, lampshades, etc.
  • Resurfaced the bathroom tile in eight of the Inn’s bathroom’s shower surrounds that needed replacement
  • Added combination AC outlet/USB stations and alarm clocks with USB ports
  • Recently completed a Model Suite and a Model Room near the hotel lobby that have been very well received for their design and comfort and as an indication of the Inn’s future
  • Completed four new Theme Rooms highlighting Astoria’s rich history with a combination of a bit of high-design and a lot of creative whimsy
  • Updated company logo and established a “branding” direction/platform
  • Renewed sense of community involvement with events/offers such as a Hometown Special, Santa in the Lobby, New Year’s Eve champagne/appetizer send-off with a shuttle to downtown venues and barter participation with local companies such as Fort George Brewery and Ohana Media Group (radio)
  • Updated social media presence with an active Facebook presence and an updated Website – working on other platforms
